The Farm Animal Gene Preservation Institute performs domestic and international breeding-gene conservation and coordination tasks for the protection of native Hungarian farm animal breeds (especially small animal breeds and the Pannonian bee) and professional support for the relevant domestic breeding organizations. Within this framework, it forms and coordinates a national gene preservation and gene bank network, creates and operates the related national and regional database and IT background.
