We are interested in find partners on 2 possible topics related to:
1 - seed coatings to enhance germination in scarce conditions (i.e. drought).
Our experience is related to use nanocomposite hydrogels by using different nanoparticles and biopolymers.
2 - active packaging materials to enhance shelf life of products
Our experience is related in development of bioactive materials based on plant extracts and oils with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry activity is focus on fundamental and applied research in the field of organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry and physics, and polymer materials science (https://icmpp.ro/index.php).
Particularly, my group research activity is focused on design and development of bio(nano)composites and the stabilization of active principles in / onto polymeric matrices, to obtain active materials with antimicrobial and antioxidant activity, low permeability to gases, and low migration of components in the contact environment, intended for bioactive food packaging and / or agricultural applications; physico-chemical and structural evaluation on materials (by using FT-IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, NIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, etc), biodegradation studies; modification / functionalization of natural and synthetic polymers by chemical and / or physical methods for the development of high-performance materials; valorization of lignocellulosic wastes by using environmentally friendly extraction processes to obtain high value chemicals (extractives, cellulose, or lignin), etc (https://icmpp.ro/laboratories/l8/g4/topics.php).
