TP 03: Smart decision-making and reflection systems in farming
We are looking for a partner to join a consortium focusing on TP 03: Smart decision-making and reflection systems in farming for the ICT-AGRI-FOOD Joint Call 2024. Particularly, C) Advanced digital technologies and simulation models for water management to manage crop irrigation and to adapt agroecosystems/regions to ongoing climate change, and their interaction with e.g. agro-photovoltaic systems, changing land-use etc.
CONSORTIUM
We are currently two partners, a Spanish SME: BETTERGY, and a Research Centre: German Aerospace Center (DLR) - Solar Research.
PROJECT IDEA:
Digitalisation/Integration into a software tool for:
- Simulation and modelling of agrovoltaic systems based on performance estimations and predictions using advanced artificial intelligence techniques.
- Monitoring/Data of agrovoltaic systems, providing real time information on meteorological parameters, electricity generation, consumption, irrigation, ...
- Comprehensive asset management support, this includes the calculation of customised recommendations and the configuration of alerts for the end user to help optimise aspects related to energy use, management of irrigation systems, position of PV modules (in the case of tracked systems), ...
PARTNER PROFILE
We are looking for an entity specialised in irrigation systems or agronomy with proven experience in the development and implementation of advanced solutions for efficient water management in agriculture, especially in environments including agro-photovoltaics systems. The ability to integrate digital technologies and simulation models into software tools for smart decision making in the agricultural sector will be an asset.
Desired skills and competences:
- Experience in the design, implementation and management of irrigation systems in agricultural environments, with a focus on optimising water use and increasing water efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of agronomic principles and water requirements of different crops, as well as the ability to adapt irrigation systems to the specific characteristics of each type of crop and its growth cycle.
- Experience in the integration of digital technologies in irrigation systems, including the use of sensors for soil and plant monitoring, automated control systems and data management tools.
- Competence to develop and implement water management strategies adapted to local climatic conditions and climate change challenges, including drought management and optimisation of water efficiency under scarcity conditions.
- Ability to collaborate in the integration of meteorological, energy yield and agronomic data into a real-time monitoring and management system.
BETTERGY is a technology company founded in 2012, based in Málaga, Spain. BETTERGY is comprised of a team of specialists in the energy sector, software specialists and data analysts, which allows us to offer a high-quality service.
BETTERGY works towards a more sustainable energy model through innovative digital solutions. Using advanced tools, we leverage data from utilities and public and private entities to accelerate the adoption of distributed generation and energy efficiency. We are experts in solar photovoltaic self-consumption, offering comprehensive services from pre-design to installation, operation and maintenance. BETTERGY is committed to improving customer outcomes and reputation, reducing risk and contributing to mitigating environmental challenges through efficient energy management.
Since its creation BETTERGY has evolved from an engineering and energy services company to a product company, offering software solutions, and automating the energy efficiency assessment process. Our challenge: transforming consumption data into tangible energy saving opportunities.
